ELDERS
Brian Kunsunoki
Brian was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to Hong Kong in 1992. He accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour in high school. Brian is married to Angela. They met at university, Angela was born and raised in Hong Kong. They have two sons: Tyler and Kevin. The family has been attending ECC for 8 years. Brian has served as a Sunday school teacher for various ages: from kindergarten to teens and hosts a weekly Men's Bible study. He is actively involved with Roadside Ministry, our outreach to local teens with difficult home situations. In 2006, he was appointed to the ECC Elder board. Brian's background is in commercial banking and he currently works in marketing for a banking network. He loves tennis and working out. On early mornings, you can either find him on the tennis court or in the gym.
Bert Wong
Bert grew up in Toronto where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour while at university. He has lived in England, the U.S. and Singapore, and moved to Hong Kong 14 years ago. He and Tina, his wife of 15 years, have three children, Michelle, Stephanie and Wesley. Bert has attended ECC for about 10 years, during which time he has served as Children's Sunday school teacher, leader of adult new believers and 2:7 classes, ministry coordinator of 2:7 discipleship class. He currently coleads a care group and has served as a church elder since Spring 2006. His wife, Tina, previously led the church’s Children's Ministry. Bert has been involved in a few ministry organisations, including English Language Institute China (ELIC), where he formerly served as a Vice Chairman of the HK Advisory Team. Bert is a principal in a privately held biomedical firm and enjoys a good game of badminton and following NBA basketball (go Spurs!).
Demetrius Yuen
Demetrius was born in Hong Kong but with a Chinese Malaysian heritage. He grew up in a loving family with strong believers as parents and two supportive siblings. He made his conscious decision to accept Christ as his Lord and Saviour when he was in junior high. He moved to Sydney briefly and settled in Los Angeles when he was young, and spent his formative years in Los Angeles and Boston. He has since worked in Hong Kong and many other places such as London, Manila, Yangon, Veracruz, Buenos Aires, Pattaya, Karachi, Ensenada, Seoul and Alexandria. He served the Lord through various capacities in the past in a para-church fellowship in Boston and a church in Los Angeles including discipleship, counseling, worship leading, Bible teaching, etc. He began attending ECC in 1996, and served in the church as an offering steward occasionally and has been a care group leader for many years. Demetrius works in the corporate finance area and his passion is skiing.
Wilson Ang
Wilson came to know the Lord when he was 15 and attended a small church in Singapore where he led worship. Apart from vocal training from Cantopop karaoke sessions, his musical abilities include playing the iPod. Wilson is married to Esther and they have a baby boy Malcolm Walter. They have lived in Singapore, London and now Hong Kong, where they have been worshipping and serving in Island ECC since 2002. Wilson is currently the leader of LiFE Group and previously started Cool CG (and still takes both credit and blame for that name). He is also part of an accountability group and attends Bible study with some church brothers. In his spare time, Wilson enjoys being a lawyer in private practice in an international firm.
Chris Justice
Chris is a father of four, Kyle (13), Logan (13), Bradley (12) and Lauren (9), and has been married to Rose since 1992. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana in the US and spent some of his early years in Sydney, Australia. Chris has lived in Hong Kong since 1987, working in the finance and media industries, and started to attend ECC when it met at Baptist University around 1989. Chris has taught children of all ages in Kids Club for the past eight years. His ministry passions include life-on-life discipleship, working with the youth in Transformers and Kids Club, and working with men of all ages in the areas of marriage, family and purity. Chris and Rose have been part of the Ryan's care group (now in Pokfulam) for many years.
Lincoln Chee
Lincoln is a soldier, sailor, surgeon and now steward to daughters Claire and Leanne. By God's grace he is married to Daphne and had been baptized in Wesley Methodist Church in Singapore in 1992. Attending Island ECC since 2002 he is currently chief executive officer of a healthcare enterprise and director of a life science company. Lincoln has since moved on from looking for the perfect surf to perfecting his second serve on the tennis court.
Malcolm Wood
Malcolm is Australian and has lived in Hong Kong and attended Island ECC for more than 3 years. He came to Christ and was baptized while growing up in Bowral, a country town near Sydney. He has served as elder of churches in New York and Sydney, and on the Board of various Christian missions’ organizations. He is married to Kara, and they have three children, Lachlan, Beatrice and Charlotte. He is the regional equity strategist at Morgan Stanley, loves running and hiking, plays a little cricket and is a fervent Arsenal fan.
