Visit weekly during the school year
Contact Ida McCormack idamacks@hotmail.com or Florence Chiu florence@islandecc.hk
Shalom Ministry ministers to underprivileged or abused families, who have been victims of abuse. The Po Leung Kuk family center has asked us to partner with them to provide support to these families, mostly by providing tutoring for children aged 8 to 14 years for one and a half hours per week during school terms. If you are interested in bringing blessing and love to these families, please contact us.

Thanks to the faithful team of women who visit Chi Ma Wan Women's Prison each month, a number of women inmates have accepted Christ and would like to know more about how to live as a Christian. If you would have a heart to encourage new believers and to share God's Word through correspondence, we will match you with an inmate at Chi Ma Wan.
New Being Fellowship
Drug Rehab Outreach
Visit every three months
Contact Brian Kusonoki bkusonoki@gmail.com
A team of volunteers will visit local teenage boys who have become addicted to drugs, on a quarterly basis. The day consists of fellowship, worship and sharing with the boys. New Being is located in the Sai Kung country park, and the next planned meeting will be at the end of October. Longer term needs are for vocational training, jobs and mentors. Cantonese ability is helpful, but not required. If you would like to find out more or join the team to encourage and support these boys, join us!
Jubilee Ministries
Dates to be confirmed
Contact Local Outreach localoutreach@islandecc.hk
Island ECC is partnering with Jubilee Ministries to serve some needy areas of Hong Kong (like Yau Ma Tei, Mong Kok and Tai Kok Tsui) on an ongoing basis. Their ministries reach out to the homeless, poor, elderly, sex workers, hawkers, street youth and construction workers. They evangelize, collect and distribute food, visit homes and minister to these different groups. Many of them would not come into contact with the gospel because of their work or circumstances, so we try to bring the gospel to where they are and walk with them.
Local Youth Outreach
Visit during Christmas and summer break
Contact Local Outreach localoutreach@islandecc.hk
Local Youth Outreach teams are committed to working directly with the churches in New Territories West to reach out to children and youth in the area, based on God's vision of bringing reconciliation
and unity among the churches and across the generations. Through overnight English
camps, the Gospel is preached to youngsters who may become God's witnesses in their
families, schools and neighborhood. Camps are held during the summer as well as at
Christmas. Details will be available.
Nursing Home Outreach
English-speaking visit on last Sunday of every month
Cantonese-speaking visit on Sundays, once every three months
Contact Mercy Ministry mercy@islandecc.hk
There are many lonely elderly living in Hong Kong. A team of volunteers, with a heart to
show compassion, visits an English-speaking nursing home every last Sunday of the
month. Another team visits the neglected elderly in the Quarry Bay area once a quarter.
The teams lead the residents of these homes in singing, in doing simple crafts and
games, or just being present with a listening ear. This is a very meaningful way to show
the love of God.
Orphanage Ministry / China
Visit on Saturdays
Contact Mercy Ministry mercy@islandecc.hk
A group of almost 20 volunteers travel each Saturday to love 250 children that have been
orphaned or abandoned in southern China. This orphanage is a place for "special needs" children, who are suffering from minor physical difficulties or severe mental and physical
disabilities. The team goes to hold, hug, sing and play games with the children but the
ultimate goal is to just be the loving hands of Christ. We go with the thought of loving
the children, but often we come back having been loved as well and having received
much joy in return.
Prison Ministry / Men
Visit on Sundays once a month
Contact Mercy Ministry mercy@islandecc.hk
For the past two years, teams of volunteers have visited English-speaking inmates at two
men's prisons in Hong Kong for the purpose of Bible study, worship, prayer and one-on-one
visits. Through these visits many inmates have experienced the love of God, grown
in their walk with Christ and some have even believed in Him for the first time.
Currently, we have a need for extra men to join the teams, as well as an opportunity to
start a Mandarin-speaking and Cantonese-speaking Bible study with inmates on Sunday
mornings.

situations. If you have compassion and a commitment to mentor and reach kids who have
been orphaned or have been placed into care, please contact us to join this team.
Cantonese speakers are preferred.
