Women's Ministries

Island ECC Women’s Ministries — always full of excitement, friendships and new challenges. As women in the church, you are automatically part of the community that we are building.

It is YOU who makethis ministry meaningful and vibrant.

It is our hope that women would learn and grow through studying the Word of God. We seek to provide a place where women can be free to love, to ask questions, to laugh, to shed tears, to recognize their potential, to utilize their gifts and to maximize their impact on others with a closer walk with Jesus Christ.

We believe that every woman can be a person of influence, in her home,

in her community, in the church and in the world. Our mission is to offer opportunities through Bible study, through discipleship and through special events for women to become all God has made them to be.

We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
Colossians 1:28

Putting away childish things

Classroom A, 8/F, 633 King's Road, Island ECC, March 30, 7:30-9:30pm

“When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a <wo>man, I did away with childish things.” (1 Cor 13:11)

Why haven’t I grown more as a Christian? What is hindering me from deepening my relationships with God and others?  In “Putting away childish things,” Miltinnie Yih will share from the Bible and her own life about how to mature spiritually.  She will discuss how to put away childish things by: (1) Dying to  live, (2) Eating solid food, (3) Eying the goal, and (4) Entering into the Family Business.

Miltinnie Yih has been a Bible teacher for over 30 years, a speaker and co-author of “Celebrate the Seasons” (NavPress), contributor to the “Woman’s Study Bible” (Thomas Nelson), and a book that is being translated for publication in China and HK later this year.  She is married to Lee Yih, and they have three adult children (the oldest is autistic).  They all lived in HK for 17 years where at different times she was a full-time mother, teacher, counselor, and Director of Development for HKIS, and the founding MD of Kaplan.  In 2002 the Yihs moved to Cambridge, MA where she and  Lee have an active outreach on the campuses of Harvard and MIT.
