Alpha is for everyone. It does not matter if you are just curious or had been a long time Christian. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don't assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal, fun and friendly environment. The Alpha course consists of a series of talks, looking at topics including 'Who Is Jesus?' and 'Why and How Do I pray?', with a ONE-DAY retreat away. We meet for dinners and each talk is followed by discussion in small groups. Alpha runs every Wednesday for ten weeks. You don't have to come to the whole course - just pop along for the first night and see what you think. No pressure.
The Alpha course starts at 7pm where an informal buffet dinner is served, and you eat with other guests in your small group. At around 8pm, video begins. You then break up into your small groups for a relaxed and informal discussion time. The small group consists of around 8-12 people, including one or two 'leaders' who will host the group and lead the discussions. This is a time when you can ask any questions that you may have, discuss the talk, study the Bible etc. The evening usually ends around 9.45pm.
